Sitecore Symposium 2022 has only just happened but there are lots of talk around the announcements made.

Content Hub One was announced and firmly sits within the Content Cloud. It was met with applause in Chicago however not much was really know at the time of announcement. Only when I started diving deeper did I find out more.
Initial Thoughts
Prior to the announcement I had heard a few times that it was a slimed down Content Hub offering basic DAM. This is not the actual case as Content Hub One at first in my eyes is Content Hub CMP V2. It more than that though.

Serve content anywhere — web, app, kiosk, voice assistant — and reuse it across channels.
Experience Edge is ‘Built in’ and this is a great idea and follows the other products by using graph. Previously I thought Experience Edge was being made to work with XM, where now it feels like the delivery layer was obvious to the team building Content Hub One and is mature for the need.
Challenges
The name could be confusing and it will take customer a while to understand actually what this is. As I said above I kept hearing rumours about a mini Content Hub DAM. I’m glad this isn’t the case and it’s all about building content.
Will pricing be competitive vs similar MACH products. Other tools in this space normally have a free tier to get you started. However as soon as you start properly building the free tier is no good. It will be interesting to see where Content Hub One fits in.
My real hope here is even if the cost is more than MACH competitors it won’t matter to customers. As it’s the ecosystem that will differentiate this.
Imagine you have Content Hub DAM and this fits directly on top seamlessly. Customers will benefit straight away from the combined tools.
Conclusion
I like the idea and this will be great for omni channel. In theory a user could build a data model very quickly, add some content then publish in minutes.
As this is all about data and content users will not be held up by code changes or deployments. The days of the monolith are a memory and for me this includes Sitecore’s Platform DXP.
Interested to see the release of Content Hub One and following my initial try of XM Cloud that worked really well – Sitecore XM Cloud – Provisioning first website. I’m excited for the future and it’s all about SaaS with Sitecore
