It’s varied weather in the UK in March, very rainy some days, bright and fresh others.

Spain on the other hand is about 20 degrees, brilliant sunshine and a pleasant night time temperature. Below is the sunrise on the first day.

I have just returned from Sugcon Europe 2023 and it was such an experience.

This years Sugcon (my first) was perfect.

  • Location
  • Weather
  • Meeting old friends
  • Making a lot of new friends
  • Amazing content from the sessions
  • All within one hotel, rooms, event and sessions

I was lucky enough to be a speaker and my lightning session was on the final day. I got to see some great sessions and you can find loads pictures and info on the social channels.

The sessions were great but it was fantastic meeting loads of different people. This includes people I have met loads of times before or ones that have blogs that I have read before.

This year there were a few great sessions on Content Hub, which I feel is showing how the community is evolving. More that at other events before now.

Others on Content Hub One – SUGDE guys had a great session on how they rebuilt the side on CH One. Even sessions on XM Cloud were really interesting for me. I have not really looked into it too much however the sessions I have seen have really got me interested.

Something has stuck with me though and increases my faith in the community.

Most companies only really support Sitecore events if they feel it’s going to benefit marketing users and customers. Symposium is a great example as most solution companies will sponsor and send a big team.

Check out all the MVPs in attendance which was great to see.

Sugcon is always seen as a developer event.

However this is incorrect in my opinion. The companies that did sponsor Sugcon got to spend time with most of the Sitecore product team and all the attendees.

Sugcon is a community event and a community I’m proud to belong to. If you ever get the chance to go, try and go.
